Apply for a $1000 Scholarship

Each of these scholarships includes a $1000 award and a complimentary conference registration. All scholarship applicants must also submit a paper or workshop to present.  

 

We look forward to presenting these scholarships at the Children’s Spirituality Summit: A Christ-Centered Gathering, June 8-10, 2020 which will convene on the campus of Lipscomb University, Nashville, TN.

Stonehouse/May Research Scholarship 

Stonehouse/May Research Scholarship 

The Stonehouse/May Scholarship is named in honor of two founding members of the Society for Children’s Spirituality: Christian Perspectives – Dr. Catherine Stonehouse and Dr. Scottie May.  As teachers, researchers and writers, both Dr. Stonehouse and Dr. May have made significant contributions to the local church and the field of Christian education.

The Stonehouse/May Research Scholarship is awarded for scholarly excellence in children’s spirituality research.  This scholarship is granted at the conference to a graduate student whose research has been approved by their university’s committee, and whose paper has been approved for presentation at the conference.  The recipient must be currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program and be in good standing.

Tina Lillig Best Practices Scholarship

The Tina Lillig Best Practices Scholarship is named for Tina Lillig who devoted much of her life to the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, eventually becoming its first national director.  This award is given for excellence in best practices in children’s spirituality. This scholarship is granted at our conference to a graduate student whose workshop has been approved for presentation at the conference.  The recipient must be currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program and be in good standing.
