Scholarships

The Children's Spirituality Summit is pleased to award 2 scholarships of $1000 each, and a complimentary conference registration.  We look forward to presenting these scholarships at the next Children’s Spirituality Summit in May 2024  which will convene on the campus of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield IL.

The deadline for application is February 15, 2024 at midnight.

Through the generosity of a sponsorship from Calvin Institute of Christian Worship, we are delighted to offer a limited number of registration scholarships for our 2024 in-person gathering. We encourage anyone with a financial need and demonstrated commitment to children's spirituality to apply!

The Stonehouse/May Research Scholarship Award

The Stonehouse/May Scholarship is named in honor of two founding members of the Society for Children’s Spirituality: Christian Perspectives – Dr. Catherine Stonehouse and Dr. Scottie May.  As teachers, researchers and writers, both Dr. Stonehouse and Dr. May have made significant contributions to the local church and the field of Christian education.  

 

The Stonehouse/May Research Scholarship is awarded for scholarly excellence in children’s spirituality research.  Awards are granted at the triennial conference to graduate students whose research has been approved by their university’s committee, and whose paper has been approved for presentation at the conference.  The recipient must be currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program and be in good standing.  

The Tina Lillig Best-Practices Scholarship

The Tina Lillig Best-Practices Scholarship is named for Tina Lillig who devoted much of her life to the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, eventually becoming its first national director.  

 

This award is given for excellence in best practices in children’s spirituality.  Awards are granted at our triennial conference to a graduate student whose ministry model has been approved for presentation at the conference.  The recipient must be currently enrolled in a masters or doctoral program and be in good standing.
